Economic State
During this time, the United States experienced its longest uninterrupted period of economic expansion in history. Big businesses dominated the domestic economy during this time. The housing and computer industry were some of the largest industries. Under President John F. Kennedy, US inflation was stable, corporate profits were at a record high, and the stock market had rebounded. The Internet would propel the economy as a new platform for commerce, creating new opportunities to sell and buy products and services.
As a result of the ARPANet, the period from the end of World War II to the early 1970s was a golden era of American capitalism.
